For as long as UFOs have been around, alien abductions have been seen as something of an outcast. While spotting unusual lights or objects in the sky is considered to be within the realm of possibility and is viewed as believable, abductions tend to be common. In some situations, these alien abduction cases might be so outlandish that they leave us scratching our heads and pondering what exactly is going on. Abduction cases have become a point of discussion.

Some of these alien abduction cases are even crazier than others, like the one about the Brazilian farmer who was taken aboard a spaceship to father an extraterrestrial entity. A peculiar series of incidents occurred in October 1957 in a rural location near Sao Francisco de Sales, Brazil. Antonio Villas Boas, his brother Joao, and their family lived here, and on the night of October 14, they had an unusual encounter while plowing a field.

Even though it was normal for them to labour at night due to the oppressive heat and the often-gruelling nature of the task, that particular evening was different. They were working in the field when they noticed a ball of brilliant red light in the sky that they couldn’t bear to look at directly. Upon spotting the strange object, Antonio made his way closer to it, but anytime he tried to go closer, it would run away from him, as if it was playing a game while his brother didn’t move, as he was terrified. The two brothers didn’t do anything but watch the object spread several beams of light in all directions before it flew into the night. But that wasn’t the end of the weirdness. In fact, for Antônio, it was just the beginning.

This time, Antônio was alone in the field on the night of October 16, 1957, when he noticed a red star among the flashing lights in the starry sky overhead. When the light began to expand in size and brilliance, he recognized that it was the same light he and his brother had previously seen. Instead of fleeing, the light seemed to be closing in quickly on him, and the terrified farmer could see that it was an egg-shaped spacecraft of some sort with a revolving dome and a brilliant red light on its top.

Using three metal legs that emerged from beneath the UFO, it softly touched down on the field near Antonio before a hatch opened to release a 5-foot-tall humanoid alien in a helmet and grey coveralls. To escape from there, Boas turned his tractor around and tried to run, but the vehicle quickly stalled, forcing him to continue on foot. He didn’t make it very far, and the alien managed to catch him. The alien was with three other aliens who looked the same and communicated by yelping and barking.

Antonio alleged that he was unable to adequately defend himself against them, so they physically dragged him into their UFO. He was kept in a brightly illuminated room, where the aliens stripped him naked and covered him in a slippery gelatinous material before transporting him to another room filled with weird red symbols. The aliens slashed his chin to draw blood before leaving him alone for a while. As he sat there, afraid and unsure of what was going to happen next, a foul-smelling gas was piped into the room, causing Antonio to vomit.

Another one of the beings appeared in front of him an hour later; this one was a lovely girl with long platinum hair and enormous blue eyes, who was described as absolutely hot by Antonio. He further stated that he had sexual intercourse with that creature. After that, she rubbed her stomach, which implied that she would carry his child. He was then dropped off at his tractor 4 hours later with strange burns on his body that he didn’t remember getting.

He continued to have different health problems over the next few days, including severe headaches, nausea, and mysterious skin lesions that appeared on his body for no apparent reason. The burns were still there. Unsure of what to do, he sought medical help and was eventually examined by Dr. Olavo Fontes of Brazil’s National School of Medicine. After examining him, the doctor said that Antonio was in terrible condition and was suffering from radiation poisoning.

“Among [Antonio’s] symptoms were pains throughout the body, nausea, headaches, loss of appetite, ceaselessly burning sensations in the eyes, cutaneous lesions at the slightest of light bruising…which went on appearing for months, looking like small reddish nodules, harder than the skin around them and protuberant, painful when touched, each with a small central orifice yielding a yellowish thin waterish discharge. The skin surrounding the wounds presented a hyperchromatic violet-tinged area.” – Dr. Olavo Fontes

When Antonio approached journalist Jose Martins regarding the incident, the story was quickly taken up by Ufologists, and by 1958, the entire unusual narrative was receiving worldwide recognition and more than its fair share of raised eyebrows as it was increasingly mentioned in the mainstream media. The entire incident was so bizarre that it borders on absurdity. Tales of extraterrestrial abduction were nearly non-existent at the time, and Antonio’s claim was one of the earliest to ever receive any substantial attention, so many people were perplexed.

Even Ufologists were doubtful of it all, and it was suggested that he made it all up after reading a similar odd description in a popular magazine called O Cruzeiro, and also that he was highly influenced by Ufologist Georges Adamski’s incredibly bizarre reports of victims of alien encounters. It looked suspicious that he had the memory of the whole incident without any regressive hypnosis. Therefore, it was argued that he came up with the idea in 1958 and then predated his tale to make it look more convincing.

Even among the most ardent Ufologists, stories of extraterrestrial hybrids and extraterrestrial sexual experiences have persisted to this day. How could an alien have DNA compatible with ours to the point that they could conceive one of our children? It is absolutely implausible from a scientific standpoint. There are a lot of things regarding this case that don’t have a scientific explanation, so it has been widely disregarded. Although his story was labelled as a hoax, that doesn’t mean he was a lunatic. Antonio later went on to become a respected lawyer, and also, he always believed in his story until his death. Antonio died in 1992.

Was this story of alien abductions only the ramblings of a troubled guy, a prank, or was there something more to it? It doesn’t matter what the truth is, this is one of the first publicly reported UFO abduction stories and continues to be debated to this day.
