Something In Form Is Disappearing: Astrology Forecast April 16th – 23rd, 2023
What to expect this week?
By: Lorna Bevan | Guest Writer
On April 20, an ultra-rare hybrid solar eclipse begins as an annular ring of fire eclipse and transitions into a sky-darkening total eclipse along its path. It is the first solar eclipse in Aries since 2006 and starts a whole series of wild card eclipses on the Aries-Libra axis between now and March 29, 2025.
This eclipse is an uncanny echo of the April 19 2004 solar eclipse at 29° Aries. To track the thread in your own life, think about to what changed for you back then.

Make a note of the dates of the seismic geo-physical storm window extending from April 16-23 and make sure you get extra hydration and grounding and reduce your agenda during this time. These are important days of multiple energy bridges, gateways and choice points. Watch for sudden sideways elevators tilting your daily reality so that you suddenly slip and slide into radically new physical, emotional and soulful territory.
This first cosmic wild card eclipse is conjunct Jupiter and Disruptor Eris in Aries clashing with Great Eliminator Pluto at 0° Aquarius just as Trickster Mercury stations conjunct unpredictable Uranus in Taurus. Its opposition to Haumea conjunct the karmic South Node of Fate is an opportunity to apply your skills and resources to create or re-create.
Something or someone in form that you previously thought was essential is about to disappear. Let them go…it’s time. Pay attention to:
- The evolution of your relationships through karmic lessons-who is no longer on your wavelength?
- Pivotal realisations and impulsive feelings – are you living for yourself or for others?
- A turbo-charged fresh start that might require you to leave a piece of your old life behind.
- Self-discovery, breaking free, renewed independence, ambition, striving, restlessness, feeling wired.

Dr Jekyll drinks the potion.
“The unconscious mind and the subconscious mind bear seeds of worlds which the conscious mind has yet to penetrate. These worlds can turn from dark to light and back again, but they are there, crying out to be fathomed, accessed, given their part in the dance. It is no longer possible to push into far shadows that part of the light which dwells in darkness. You must bring up all of the hidden places. So that nobody can deny how all of our being longs to be known, to be seen, to be activated, to freely partake in the dance of life.” – Inside Degrees Elias Lonsdale
Aries Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
The rare hybrid solar eclipse on April 20th at 29 Aries is the first in your sign since June 2006. Think back to what changed for you then. This is just the start of an entire series of eclipses across Aries/Libra between now and 2025, bringing changes outside your control as circumstances shift around you. Don’t hesitate to press your personal reset button, as Jupiter brings opportunities for broadening your horizons. Tie up every loose end then be ready to renegotiate all your contracts, alliances and relationships.
Life on your own terms.
Taurus Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
This is huge week for you. The Moon is occulted at 29 degrees 53 minutes of Aries – only seconds away from Taurus. Not only is there a rare solar eclipse but Mercury turns retrograde conjunct Uranus at 15 Taurus until May 14th. A definite ending of something or someone in your life is underway. In the days approaching April 20th, think carefully about who or what you need to leave in your dustbin of history. The eclipse also marks your birthday month and personal New Year and, as Vesta returns to Taurus for the first time in four years, make a small offering or carry out a ritual in your home to set your intentions for the year ahead.

Gemini Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
At the solar eclipse on April 20th in your angle of friends, groups and networks, the Sun returns to Taurus and your personal planet Mercury turns retrograde in your hidden 12th House. This is the engine room of your chart, the repository of your unconscious drives and defences and dreams. It’s time to withdraw, retreat and reflect. Get your dream journal up to date, then track back for clues and inspirations. Notice what has run its course-a passion, a community group, a habit, a way of life. There are messages everywhere if you trust your instincts over your need to judge and categorise.
Listen more than you speak.
Cancer Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
As a sign ruled by the Moon, eclipses are always significant to you. On April 20th, a rare hybrid solar eclipse in late Aries activates the very top of your chart, suggesting an ending connected with your career, role or reputation. It is conjunct Jupiter and also disruptor Eris, so there may well be drama of some kind. Perhaps someone leaves or someone arrives or maybe a long running workplace soap opera reaches a grand finale. No matter how it plays out, see it as an opportunity for you to step up to the plate. Bear in mind that Mercury is turning retrograde until May 14th affecting your networks and alliances.

Leo Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
Something is ending, falling away, disappearing into the past. What could it be? On April 20th, a rare hybrid solar eclipse darkens the Lights at the very start of your 10th House of public reputation and career, while Mercury turn retrograde in this part of your chart the next day at his most tricksterish. As the cosmic wild card is at odds with Great Eliminator Pluto in Aquarius, there seem to be relationship lessons to be learnt before you can move on. What might they be? Are you on good terms with those who share your life at work and at home? If not, how could you rebuild bridges and strengthen bonds?
Independence is important but so is sharing.
Virgo Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
Be gentle with your own feelings and careful in all your dealings with others this week. In the days surrounding the rare hybrid eclipse on the 20th, everyone will be extra sensitive, ready to react instantly to what feels like the slightest criticism. This is compounded by your own planet Mercury stationing retrograde in Taurus the next day conjunct unpredictable Uranus. As Pluto the Great Eliminator is at odds with the Lights, something connected to family secrets, partnership, finances and shared resources is about to end permanently.
It’s time…let it go.
Libra Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
Make your mantra: ”Softly, Softly” this week as situations shift around you and the floor feels as if it’s tilting. The solar eclipse in your opposite sign of Aries on April 20th followed by Mercury turning retrograde in Taurus is signalling a permanent end to one of your relationships or contracts – personal or professional. Keep in mind that eclipses conceal, they never reveal and, no matter what happens, don’t make any important decisions while some important information is still hidden from view. The eclipse dust can take a while to settle and the ripples can last for 6 months, so withhold judgment on whether a situation is good or bad until the Scorpio eclipse on May 5th.
A changing of the guard.
Scorpio Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
This week, use all your Scorpionic powers of watching, waiting and biding your time. Keep in mind that eclipses conceal, they never reveal and make that your watchword, when the Moon is occulted on April 20th. This cosmic wild card delivers a permanent ending to something connected to your work and /or your health and wellbeing. Perhaps you’ve reached the end of the road in your current job or had enough of being a couch potato and want to get fit-whatever it is, something that’s outlived its time has to go. The Sun moves into your opposite sign of Taurus just after the eclipse while Mercury turns retrograde on volatile Uranus.
In the two weeks leading to the Scorpio lunar eclipse on May 5th, it’s all change in your closest partnership.
Sagittarius Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
Coming a week after that stunning Sun/Jupiter conjunction in Aries is a rare hybrid solar eclipse on April 20th at the very last degree of your 5th House of self-expression and pleasure. Jupiter is your personal planet and the square to Eliminator Pluto suggests a permanent ending of some kind … perhaps to a creative project you’ve been passionate about or a budding romance. That said, it might also bring you one last slice of luck. Straight after the eclipse, the Sun enters Taurus and Mercury turns retrograde there.
Think about how you want to spend your precious time and which habits, routines or ruts need to be left behind.
Capricorn Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
A week with a rare hybrid total eclipse and Mercury turning retrograde is bound to bring change to your door. Probably literally, in your case, since the Lights are occulted in your 4th House of home, roots and belonging. Expect a shift to your foundations, if not immediately, over the next few weeks as the Scorpio lunar eclipse on May 5 continues the process. Someone might leave or someone might join the family. No matter how it plays out, it’s time to let go and let in something fresh and new. On the 20th, the Sun moves into your angle of self-expression, so get out your vision board and see what creative project or passion has your name on it.
Notice what is opening up when so much is closing down.
Aquarius Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
Ever since Pluto entered your sign on March 23rd, you’ve sensed that big changes were rumbling just beneath the surface. This week, a rare hybrid solar eclipse delivers a permanent ending, a culmination of a way of thinking or a belief system that has outlived its usefulness. Be ready to encounter situations that challenge you to change your mind, to see right through some of the old rules you imprinted from your family of origin. As the Sun enters Taurus on the 20th and Mercury turns retrograde conjunct Awakener Uranus, expect some lightbulb moments about you could create happier relationships by changing the way you communicate.
Listen more than you speak.
Pisces Weekly Forecast: April 16-23, 2023
You’ll need to draw on your powers of sensitivity and empathy this week as a rare hybrid solar eclipse in Aries on April 20th makes everyone much more reactive than usual. The Moon in a harsh angle with Great Eliminator Pluto is occulted in your angle of money and resources-one door could permanently close and another swing open. Make sure you have the funds to ride out any sudden and unexpected changes to your income stream, so you don’t have to make any big decisions on the fly. Hours after the eclipse, the Sun enters Taurus and Mercury turns backwards conjunct unpredictable Uranus so plug into your networks and alliances, be proactive and know that in the next two weeks before the Scorpio eclipse, anything could happen and probably will.
