This week, Mars slows to station direct at 8 Gemini after a 10 weeks’ go-slow. Warrior Mars first entered Gemini on August 21st 2022 to stay for an unprecedented 7 months until March 26th 2023:

Mars turned Retrograde at 25° Gemini on October 30 2022.

Mars turns Direct at 8° Gemini on January 12 2023.

Mars exits Gemini for Cancer on March 25 2023.

Pay attention in the days around the 12th as a Mars Max station frequently brings heightened aggression and conflict, from arguments to armed warfare, explosions, gun crimes, fires and crashes. This is the lowest manifestation of Mars as ego based Strong Will. Instead, aim to develop Skilful Will combined with Good Will.

Although Mars is moving forward from January 12th, the post-shadow period won’t end until March 15, 2023 just before the red planet enters Cancer. The welcome news is that from then onwards, Mars will be direct for the rest of 2023 and most of 2024.

Keep in mind that Mercury remains retrograde in Capricorn until January 18th and Uranus is retrograde in Taurus until January 22nd the date 2023 really gets going with a Super New Moon at 1 Aquarius, the degree of Pluto’s March 24th ingress.

Desire isn’t bad but the object of our desires is rarely the thing we are after-which is to know that we are okay. Instead of focusing on healing the hole inside us, we search for the buzz of shiny things outside ourselves

As Above, So Below. When Mars stations, mirror the astrology by slowing right down so that you come into right relationship with your desires, start to discern what the true motivation is behind them and if, in fact, you really want what you think you want.

A Chandelier Which Holds Lit Candles

“Creative selfhood lights up the world. The brightness lies in the realisation of being all things, becoming all things. It is everywhere at once. Nothing is linear, nor consecutive. The spinning upon an axis of power. Joy lies in making the connections, in being a resource, in bringing the situation to what it can be. All is activated, mobilised. Your potential is actualised by being all-inclusive and keeping every side of life in your sights. Lit up from within.” – Inside Degrees Elias Lonsdale

Aries Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

Your sign is ruled by Mars so this week’s forecast is especially important to you. Although Mars is stationing direct on Thursday January 12th after 10 weeks of go-slow, take your time. Don’t jump straight into launching new projects or trying to push for instant progress, as it will backfire. This week, do the counter-intuitive thing and slow right down to get your ducks in a row. Lay the groundwork, think deeply about what you really want. If you got it, what would it give you in terms of meaning and value? Luckily, Jupiter in your sign is nudging you to consider the big picture, including likely shifts in your career or direction.

Be patient until Mercury has moved forward on January 18th.

Taurus Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

Did you surprise yourself or others at the Cancer Full Moon by voicing some radical truths or opinions? If so, that’s down to Awakener Uranus at the midpoint of Taurus shaking up your thinking, and gifting you with creative inspiration and clarity. Mars slows to turn forward on January 12th in your angle of money and resources. Since his October retrograde, you’ve had to deal with fluctuating income streams and find practical ways to manage with less. The money tap will start to flow more consistently from now on but what you learnt will stay with you.

A career boost is on its way at the Super New Moon in Aquarius on January 21st– start planting the seeds now.

Gemini Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

You have been hosting Mars in your sign since August 21st and he won’t depart until March 25th. That’s 7 long months instead of his usual 8 week stay! Not only that, but the action planet has been on a go-slow since October 30th, leading to constant delays, obstacles and backtracking. It will take until at least the Super Moon on January 21st before you start to pick up momentum again and by then you will be on rocket fuel. Venus in Aquarius is nudging you to travel, study or at least broaden your usual horizons in one way or another.

Start planning that trip.

Cancer Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

Hopefully last Friday’s Full Moon in your sign lifted the lid on some secrets and allowed you to get to the bottom of a relationship issue. Now you focus can turn to your career. With Jupiter at the very top of your solar chart until mid-May, the sky’s the limit. Whether it manifests as a promotion, getting married or an award, this is set to be a happy and fortunate period. The trick is to seize the moment and not sit back passively waiting for it to fall in your lap. Momentum builds from January 12th when Mars moves forward, but wait until Mercury turns direct on the 18th before making a commitment.

A once in 12 years’ run of serendipity.

Leo Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

With Mars retrograde in your 11th House since October 2022, teamwork of all kinds has probably been quite challenging….. Rather like trying to herd cats the good news is that the red planet moves forward again on January 12th and the glitches should start to sort themselves out. The main thing is to retain the lessons about how to gain rapport with those on a different wavelength. With Mercury retrograde until January 18th and in your 6th House until February, put your health and wellbeing right at the top of your agenda. Install some beneficial new habit tweaks and hacks and have fun.

Clear the river of your personal ecology.

Virgo Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

It may be the second week of January but your New Year has yet to materialise. That’s because your own planet Mercury is retrograde until the 18th while action planet Mars is slowing to station direct all this week. You can’t push the river. Instead, clear the decks and take time to do something enjoyable just for the sake of it. When Mars in your 10th House eventually presses the button for take-off, you’ll be ready for a whole new direction in your career.

Down time is when your unconscious sows the seeds for a future harvest.

Libra Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

There seem to be ongoing issues at home to sort out as Mercury retrogrades at the base of your chart, not turning forward until January 18th. It could be slowing down a relocation or building works or connected to someone either leaving the nest or a new addition to the tribe. No matter how it’s playing out for you, adjustments to others will need to be made. If you’re making a big purchase, commit to nothing until well after the New Moon on January 21st, no matter how tempting it might be. Action planet Mars is slowing all this week to station direct on Thursday January 12th. If you have plans to travel or study, clear the decks ready to implement them after the 21st.

Checking the details.

Scorpio Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

You need to be patient for a while longer-until the Super Moon on January 21st to be exact-for 2023 to really get going. Your sign is experiencing a double whammy with your personal planet Mars retrograde since October and Mercury retrograde until January 18th in your angle of communication. Mars is slowing all this week to station direct on January 12th but won’t clear his retrograde shadow zone until March 15th. Double check everything, especially the small print on any financial commitments and the wording of your posts on social media. People will be ready to jump down your throat for any perceived criticism or slight.

Get your finances in order and enjoy a period of time out before the year gathers momentum.

Sagittarius Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

Although the first week of the New Year has been frustratingly slow, Mars is now about to turn forward again, giving your most important relationships a shot in the arm. From January 12th, expect demands on your time and energy to suddenly increase. Knowing this in advance, decide now what is negotiable or non-negotiable and strengthen your boundaries. You don’t need any distractions as you have big plans to make now that expansionist Jupiter is boosting your creativity and inspiration until mid-May. One caveat: get your finances in order, reduce debt and build savings. This will allow you to develop your entrepreneurial skills.

Time to work for yourself or to set up some lucrative income streams.

Capricorn Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

2023 won’t get going until the Super Moon on January 21st. Knowing this, cut yourself some slack and stop trying to push the river. Mercury is retrograde in your own sign until January 18th while Mars is slowing all this week to station direct on the 12th. Take the opportunity to clear the decks and to put your health at the top of your priorities. Don’t beat yourself up over bad habits, just tweak your daily routine to include some more supportive hacks. Make it enjoyable and you’ll carry on with them. People will be extra sensitive this week, so double check what you say, post or text.

Everything in its own time.

Aquarius Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

There is light at the end of the tunnel after all! Dour Saturn is now heading to the end of Aquarius after two years of reality checking every aspect of your life, searching out weakness and unsustainability, whilst Venus smooth’s your path until January 27th. Make the most this boost to your attractor factor by using diplomacy rather than confrontation this week, as Mars slows to turn forward again. Sidestep soap operas and arguments and resurrect a hobby, pastime or passion you once left by the wayside. With Mercury retrograde until January 18th, you might discover that the pleasure and enjoyment can be re-kindled.

Time to catch up with your most heartfelt desires.

Pisces Weekly Forecast: January 8-15, 2023

The slow start to the New Year is extremely helpful, giving you extra space and time to think about 2022’s losses and gains, so that you can clear the decks ahead of Saturn entering Pisces on March 8th to carry out a two year reality check on every aspect of your life. With Mercury retrograde until January 18th, take a good look at your people landscape and update it. Are there old friends you’d like to reconnect with? Or toxic alliances you need to walk away from? Mars is slowing to turn direct again at the base of your chart where there are issues at home to resolve. There may be someone moving out or new family members moving in or you could be thinking about relocating. No matter how it plays out for you, wait until after the Super Moon on January 21st before making any major decisions.
