An important question to ask is, why is vaccine hesitancy on the rise with so many vaccines, especially when it comes to the covid vaccine. Contrary to what you may have heard, there are legitimate reasons why many people around the world, and this includes a large number of doctors, scientists and other ‘academics’, as to why people don’t want to take the covid vaccine, or other vaccines for that matter. The sharp rise in vaccine hesitancy doesn’t seem to be “anti-vaccine” misinformation, as the mainstream media and other “influential” people like Bill Gates tend to label it. More on that later.
The latest news regarding vaccine hesitancy comes from the U.S. military. It’s recently been disclosed that nearly 40% of the 123,000 U.S. Marines have turned down their opportunity to receive the covid vaccine.
Military.com explains:
Military officials in North Carolina told Carolina Public Press in March that they were fighting misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine spreading on social media. “We have to inoculate the force from the virus, and we have to inoculate the force for vaccine misinformation,” Lt. Col. Thomas B. Turner, who is leading vaccination planning for active-duty Marines at Camp Lejeune, told the outlet….Vaccine hesitancy isn’t limited to the Marine Corps or the military community. About 30% of Americans polled by the Pew Research Center in February said they were unlikely to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Participants cited the quick speed at which the vaccine was developed or lack of information about how well it’ll work as top reasons they would opt against it.
As you can see above, “misinformation” spread on social media has been cited. No doubt there is a lot of vaccine misinformation and “fake news” out there, but one thing the mainstream media fails to do is actually address this “misinformation”, identify it, explain where it came from, why so many people believe it and counter it. The mainstream continues to fail at having appropriate discussions around controversial topics. As a result, there is a lack of understanding between people as we continue to be polarized in our viewpoints and fail to understand the perspective of another who may disagree with us.
I’ve written in-depth about the actual reasons covid vaccine hesitancy exists. A heavily sourced article with multiple examples I recently published titled “The Top Four Reasons Why Many People, Doctors & Scientists Refuse To Take The COVID Vaccine” touches upon some of the reasons why people are actually hesitant if you want to get an idea. You will see that there are more reasons than “anti vax conspiracy theory misinformation” that’s contributing to the legitimate concerns people actually have.
