Russian Scientist Claims Earth Is A ‘Reserve’ Quarantined By Aliens

One of Russia’s top astronomers and the head of the SETI scientific and cultural center recently gave an extensive interview with RIA Novosti in which he shared some interesting observations, including that he believes one reason why we have not yet encountered extraterrestrials (in his opinion) is because they may be keeping us in a “reserve” where contact cannot interfere with our development – a kind of Russian version of the Star Trek “prime directive.” He also believes focusing on repeating fast radio bursts may be a mistake that could cause SETI researchers to miss other signals – signals that we may not yet recognize. Is he right?

“Of course we are not alone. The question is not whether they exist, but where they exist.”

Alexander Panov, a leading researcher at the Institute of Nuclear Physics of Moscow State University, head of the SETI scientific and cultural center under the Council on Astronomy of the RAS and chairman of the Life and Mind in the Universe section of the Council on Astronomy of the RAS (i.e. – someone who’s in the know) makes no bones about his believe in aliens. In fact, he says they’ve probably visited Earth before, although he doesn’t equate current UFO sightings to close encounters. Instead, he speculates that other intelligent civilizations, perhaps working together, keep Earth and its inhabitants in a “reserve.”

“It lies in the fact that highly humanized civilizations do not interfere in our development and have created a quarantine zone around us, a radio silence zone so as not to interfere with our independent development.”

However, Panov believes that this “radio silence zone” should not preclude us from searching for signals from other civilizations. One problem he has with current searches is their narrow focus. He is helping design the Russian space observatory Spektr-M, scheduled for launch in 2027, that will have a broad focus and mission – including looking for large artificial structures like Dyson spheres, black holes, cosmic rays, dark matter and laser signals rather than just fast radio bursts. He is also pushing for new technology which will allow telescopes to monitor the skies 24/7 and record and analyse what would then be ten-to-a-hundred times more data.

“Another method of searching for extraterrestrial civilizations is archaeo-astronomy.”

Not content to look only in far corners of the universe for evidence of life, Panov supports searching closer – like on the Moon – for archaeological evidence of advanced alien civilization that may have visited millions of years ago. He doesn’t believe that information of this kind has already been discovered and is being hidden from the public. If all of this sounds like pie-in-the sky, Panav agrees. He admits some of these projects could have been done before, but the driving force is budgets – not fear of alien contact.

“When you go outside, a brick may fall on your head, but this does not mean that you need to constantly stay at home. The potential benefits we can get from contacts are so great that they outweigh the risks. However, this does not mean that there is no need to think about possible risks. Scientists have defined a set of safety rules that must be followed if you received and decrypted the interstellar message. For example, if the algorithm for creating some device or computer program that we are offered to build and run is indicated there, then in no case should you do it without understanding. You never know, maybe this is something malicious. Safety rules must be observed, but not paranoid.”

Not Paranoid?

Observed but not paranoid.” Sounds like a good philosophy for a lot of things, not just SETI. And Alexander Panov sounds like an interesting person to invite over for dinner and conversation …. If he can pull himself away from searching for other life in the universe.

Trump Says He’s Heard ‘Interesting’ Things About Aliens, Will ‘Think About’ Declassifying Info

President Donald Trump has claimed that he’s heard some “interesting” things about aliens as well as the secretive Area 51 base in Roswell, New Mexico.

(TMU) – President Donald Trump has claimed that he’s heard some “interesting” things about aliens as well as the secretive Area 51 base in Roswell, New Mexico, that some theorists claim is a UFO crash site.

The president was been extremely vague about details – and even withheld the information from his eldest child, Don Trump Jr.

The comments were made Thursday during a Father’s Day-themed interview with Don Jr. that was held for the president’s re-election campaign, reports NBC News.

Don Jr., who is apparently just as interested as the rest of us in what transpired at Area 51 during the alleged UFO crash in 1947, wound down the interview by asking his father, “Before you leave office, will you let us know if there are aliens?”

“Because this is the only thing I really want to know. Would you ever open up Roswell and let us know what’s really going on?”

However, Trump responded in a guarded way, protecting the seemingly classified information.

“So many people ask me that question,” Trump said. “There are millions and millions of people who want to go there [Roswell] and see it.”

I won’t talk to you about what I know about it, but it’s very interesting,” he continued. “Roswell is a very interesting place – there’s a lot of people who would like to know what’s going on.”

Don Jr. then responded by asking if his father would consider eventually declassifying the information, to which the president responded: “Well, I’ll have to think about that one.”

President Donald Trump on Roswell and UFOs – June 18, 2020

Area 51 was created amid the Cold War rivalry with the Soviet Union as a top-secret research and development site for aircraft such as the U-2 spy plane and other then-cutting-edge platforms.

Conspiracy theorists and ufologists have claimed that an alien spacecraft crash-landed just outside Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947, after a rancher found mysterious debris in a pasture used by his sheep. Officials of the U.S. Air Force responded at the time that only a weather balloon had crashed – a claim that hardly convinced UFO enthusiasts, even after the Pentagon admitted that the debris was related to a top-secret atomic warfare project.

Since then, some claim that the base houses everything from alien spacecraft to extraterrestrial pilots’ corpses and other technology – speculation that has been fed by popular culture and the fact that the U.S. government didn’t actually confirm the base’s existence until 2013.

Last June, Trump said that he was briefed on UFOs but revealed that he was quite sceptical about their existence, saying: “People are saying they’re seeing UFOs. Do I believe it? Not particularly.”

Trump says he doesn’t particularly believe in UFOs

Last September, however, the U.S. Navy admitted that widely-circulated video footage captured by Navy pilots that purportedly showed UFOs flying through the skies did depict actual “unknown” objects that flew into U.S. airspace.

While officials admitted that they have been baffled by the unknown flying objects, they also admit that past encounters with them have been frequent. They also said that rather than calling them “UFOs,” they prefer the term “unidentified aerial phenomena” or UAPs.

The videos were eventually declassified in April, to which Trump responded: “I just wonder if it’s real. That’s a hell of a video.”

Researchers Estimate There Are 36 Advanced Alien Civilizations In The Milky Way Galaxy

It’s incredible to ponder the notion of there being over 30 advanced civilizations in our galaxy.

Published

on

(TMU) – Few mysteries rile the imagination like the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. SETI and other groups have spent decades scanning the skies for signals from other worlds and have yet to confirm the existence of ET. While the majority of astrophysicists and astronomers believe there are almost certainly other advanced life forms out there somewhere, the science behind xenology – the study of extraterrestrial life – has been greatly limited by technological constraints.

A new study published in The Astrophysical Journal, however, argues that a reasonable estimate can be deduced by using Earth-like planets as a variable in a mathematical equation. The research concludes that there are likely 36 active ET civilizations in the Milky Way galaxy alone.

Astrophysics professor Christopher Conselice, who was chief researcher for the study, says: “There should be at least a few dozen active civilizations in our Galaxy under the assumption that it takes 5 billion years for intelligent life to form on other planets, as on Earth.”

First author Tom Westby explains further: “The classic method for estimating the number of intelligent civilizations relies on making guesses of values relating to life, whereby opinions about such matters vary quite substantially. Our new study simplifies these assumptions using new data, giving us a solid estimate of the number of civilizations in our Galaxy.”

Conselice adds,The idea is looking at evolution, but on a cosmic scale. We call this calculation the Astrobiological Copernican Limit.”

The classic method Westby refers to is the Drake Equation, which was a 1960s-era probabilistic argument for how to calculate the number of alien species out there.

However, despite the initial optimism, in recent decades the confounding silence from the cosmos has led some to question whether we’re alone. The Fermi Paradox uses its own probabilistic argument to question why, if life is so common in the universe, we haven’t received any messages or seen a single artifact or probe.

Explanations for the Fermi Paradox abound: 1) Alien signals are out there but we can’t decode them 2) Aliens more advanced than us have transcended physical space 3) Alien civilizations die off fairly quickly after gaining intelligence 4) Aliens have quarantined us in a kind of cosmic zoo so that they can study our development.

One of the most logical explanations – that the distance and time that must be overcome to convey a message or spaceship across the incredible gulfs of interstellar space – is touched upon by the new study. The researchers write that the average distance between civilizations is 17,000 light-years.

For context on how massive this distance really is, consider that the nearest star to Earth, Alpha Centauri, is only 4.3 light-years away. With our current fastest speeds, it would take a human probe 78,000 years to reach this star system.

The researchers also say it is exceedingly possible that these civilizations went extinct thousands of years ago.

While visiting even a nearby alien star is out of our reach for the foreseeable future, new technologies in the coming years may allow us to confirm the existence of an alien civilization.

For example, the James Webb Space Telescope, which is scheduled for deployment in the coming year or so, is so powerful it will be able to study the atmospheres of exoplanets and look for “biosignatures.” In other words, we will be able to determine if an advanced species there is using industrial technology that alters the composition of the atmosphere.

The new study also considers how the search for ET reflects on the evolution of our own species:

“Our new research suggests that searches for extraterrestrial intelligent civilizations not only reveals the existence of how life forms, but also gives us clues for how long our own civilization will last. If we find that intelligent life is common then this would reveal that our civilization could exist for much longer than a few hundred years, alternatively if we find that there are no active civilizations in our Galaxy it is a bad sign for our own long-term existence. By searching for extraterrestrial intelligent life — even if we find nothing — we are discovering our own future and fate.”

It’s incredible to ponder the notion of there being over 30 advanced civilizations in our galaxy. Then, when you consider that the Milky Way is just one out of hundreds of billions of galaxies in the observable universe, human comprehension begins to fail.

First Contact: Are Aliens Actually People From The Future?

First Contact: Are Aliens Actually People From The Future?

Brent SwancerGuest Writer

One of the debates that has hovered around the UFO phenomenon is just what UFOs are. For some they are experimental aircraft being tested by the government. For others they are alien spaceships from across space, here on their inscrutable missions. Other ideas are that they are interdimensional interlopers, shifting across the bridge between realities from some parallel dimension. Yet, these are not the only ideas out there, and one that is gaining more and more attention is that aliens might not be any of the above, but rather human beings from the future.

One of the ideas that has been floated about concerning the origins of UFOs and alien encounters is that these are not aliens from another planet or dimension at all, but are rather us. The idea here basically boils down to the notion that these entities are humans from the future, perhaps so far in the future that we have evolved past being superficially recognized as such. One of the main people in recent years behind this theory is Michael Masters, a professor of biological anthropology at Montana Technological University, who has been fascinated with UFOs ever since his father had an encounter with one when he was just a child. Over the course of his career as an anthropologist, he has sought real scientific enquiry into the UFO phenomenon, and culminating in his book on the matter Identified Flying Objects: A Multidisciplinary Scientific Approach to the UFO Phenomenon.

One area Masters has seen as particularly intriguing is the idea that “aliens” might actually be human beings from far in the future, and he uses his knowledge of human evolution to help support this claim. In many reports of aliens, we have what are called in UFOlogy “the Greys,” perhaps the most commonly encountered type of entity. These beings are usually described as thin, bipedal, and hairless, with enlarged craniums, small mouths and jaws, tiny noses, and very large eyes, all very humanoid considering that if they have travelled from another planet it seems unlikely that they would resemble us so closely. Instead, Masters and others who subscribe to his theory believe that this appearance is more in keeping with the trends and patterns of human evolution throughout our history on this planet. Indeed, looking at the expected path of human evolution into the future, it is predicted that we will develop hairlessness, larger heads for more brain space, smaller mouths, and many of the other features of these so-called aliens. As a matter of fact, if one were to look at these predicted trends and fast forward an image of a modern human to simulate these changes, one will come up at some point with a being that looks very much like the Greys that are seen on UFOs. It does seem to make sense. After all, it seems more likely that we would evolve to look like them than for a completely alien species from another world to evolve to look like us.

At the same time that we are evolving into this form, our technology would be making leaps and bounds as well, possibly leading to the ability to travel through time at some point, and with these fantastical machines and alien physical appearance, it would be only natural for humans to come to the conclusion that they are seeing extraterrestrials rather than time travellers. It all seems like something straight out of a science fiction story, but then again, so is the idea that aliens are visiting Earth from across light years and a sea of stars. In fact, according to Masters, the time traveller idea is actually the more rational explanation for UFOs, a simpler possibility than assuming spacefaring civilizations exist and are visiting us, and he has said of this to Space.com:

“If we continue to evolve in the same way we have over the six to seven million years since we first started walking upright and our neurocranium – the upper part of our skull and brains – continued to increase in size and get more rounded. If the same dominant trend continues in the future we are likely to look very much like what is commonly described in UFO reports. The book ties together those known aspects of our evolutionary history with what is still an unproven, unverified aspect of UFOs and aliens. We know we’re here. We know humans exist. We know that we’ve had a long evolutionary history on this planet. And we know our technology is going to be more advanced in the future. I think the simplest explanation, innately, is that it is us. I’m just trying to offer what is likely the most parsimonious explanation. I think the simplest explanation, innately, is that it is us.

Well, what if we do for a moment assume that aliens are actually us from the future and UFOs their craft, then why would they be coming here to this time in the first place? The answer to that question could go any number of ways. Perhaps they are here just to study us or to investigate times in their history. Maybe they are here as tourists of a sort, just observing the past. Masters has said of his own thoughts on the matter:

“The alleged abduction accounts are mostly scientific in nature. It’s probably future anthropologists, historians, linguists that are coming back to get information in a way that we currently can’t without access to that technology. Perhaps this is my bias as a paleoanthropologist, but I think they are studying their own past. There could also be a tourism component in which people pay to go back and experience monumental moments in human history. Undoubtedly in the future, there are those that will pay a lot of money to have the opportunity to go back and observe their favourite period in history. Some of the most popular tourist sites are the pyramids of Giza and Machu Picchu in Peru … old and prehistoric sites.”

Masters even goes as far as to speculate that the fact they are time travellers rather than space faring aliens could explain why they mostly keep to themselves and have not announced their presence. After all, doing so would possibly cause disruptions in the time line and make things complicated. He has explained of this:

“If they have come all this way through space, why not introduce themselves after such a long journey? With time it makes more sense, because of the complication which arrives from interjecting yourself into the past. This doesn’t change the past but you become part of the past. There’s nothing which forbids the interaction so it’s not as if we’d come into contact with our future selves and explode. It just complicates things.

There’re certainly still missing pieces of the puzzle. There are aspects of time that we don’t yet understand. Wanted is a theory of quantum gravity, and we can meld general relativity and quantum mechanics. I’m just trying to put forth the best model I can based on current scientific knowledge. Hopefully, over time, we can continue to build on this.

It could also explain why we have not made any radio contact with these aliens out there in the yawning chasm of space, because they are just us slipping around through time. It’s all a pretty wild theory, but in many ways is no more outlandish than any other idea on what aliens and UFOs might be. It certainly puts an interesting spin on things, to imagine that at least some of these entities might not be alien intelligences from beyond the stars or through the veil between dimensions, but us. Is there anything to this, or is it just grasping at straws? In the void of any concrete answers concerning the UFO phenomenon it seems at least a possibility worth pursuing, and perhaps in time we will know for sure.

Where Are We Really From? The Bizarre Theory Of The Prison Planet

Where Are We Really From? The Bizarre Theory Of The Prison Planet

Brent SwancerGuest Writer

Since the dawn of humankind we have sought to explain our origins and answer the fundamental, basic question: where do we come from? In every far-flung culture across every corner of the globe one can find origin myths and legends, each as different as the culture it spawns from. In more recent times we have science and the theory of evolution, a more scientific effort to explain the same age-old question that has haunted us since the first flickers of self-awareness sparked in our brains, but for some this has still not been enough, and there are some decidedly more fringe ideas still floating around out there. For at least one scientist, the answer to this question is that we did not come from Earth at all, but were rather dropped off or exiled here long ago. Welcome to the bizarre world of the Prison Planet.

The main thrust behind one of the most bonkers theories on the history of human beings on this planet is an American ecologist by the name of Dr. Ellis Silver. His main idea is that our origins on this planet are not what they seem, and that perhaps we are not the product of evolution on this world, but rather visitors that, for whatever reasons, ended up here relatively recently in the geographical timescale, perhaps hundreds of thousands or even as recently as tens of thousands of years ago, after which we bred with earlier species such as Neanderthals in order to become the hybrid creatures we are today. It sounds completely outlandish, the ravings of a tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorist, but Silver is no usual crackpot, but rather a respected scientist, and he has his evidence to try and back up this on-the-surface crazy notion.

Forgetting for the moment of how we might have wound up here in the first place, Silver is more than ready to present his arguments on why, as a species, we just don’t seem to belong here. The first and foremost reason for this is that we humans are unlike anything else on this planet in terms of intelligence and mental capacity. There is no other animal that even comes close to our ability to think, philosophize, create politics, artwork and poetry, or advance in technology so incredibly rapidly. This is the most obvious argument in his case, but it is certainly not the only one, and in his opinion human beings exhibit many characteristics and physiological features that prove we are not as acclimated or suitable for this planet as our original originators might have thought, and indeed he cites a long list of differences between us and pretty much every other life form on this planet, which he says mark us as hilariously ill-equipped to deal with this environment and world.

According to Silver, these anomalous differences can be seen as early as the beginning of our lives. Human women have enormous complications and pain during childbirth, which he claims are not seen anywhere else in the animal kingdom, with births among animals natural and smooth, whereas human beings need much support and can even die in childbirth, something which still happens occasionally even to this day. Of course, this is due to the largeness of the head of human babies, but why, Silver argues, should this be if it is a normal process of evolution? After being born after an unusually short gestation period we than undergo an extremely comparatively long process of slow development, with human babies completely and utterly helpless for years after birth, which Silver argues is far from the norm in the animal kingdom. This might be raising some eyebrows already, but this is only the beginning.

Upon eventually maturing, humans display many anomalous traits not really shared by other creatures on this planet. Silver says that we are unnaturally prone to chronic illnesses and conditions such as hay fever, allergies, and others, which doesn’t seem to make sense. He also brings up our unusual weakness to the sun, saying that we are one of the only creatures that suffers from sunburn to the extent that we do, despite the fact that we “evolved” to have no body hair, and that we are additionally one of the only creatures that needs to squint the eyes when the sunlight is bright. The range of frequencies that we can audibly hear is also woefully low compared to most animals, as is our range of smell, which is argued as all being the result of being in tune on a biological level with another entirely different environment. Human beings also tend to have chronic back problems, which he says is a result of the differing gravity between our home world and Earth, and he continues with the notion that our bodies actually seem to be more in tune with a 25-hour day rather than 24, and that many of us have sleeping disorders and a general sense of anxiety because of this. Furthermore, we tend to dislike raw and uncooked foods as a rule, unlike other animals, have evolved with little body hair, are upright rather than with a lower center of gravity, unlike other animals, and he even points out our large amount of extra “junk DNA” as being evidence that we are, in fact, aliens. In his opinion we are just too different in too many ways from every other animal on the planet. Generally it is of Silver’s opinion that our bodies are just not suitable for this environment if we have actually evolved here over millions of years, and he has said of this:

“My thesis proposes that mankind did not evolve from that particular strain of life (native earth organisms), but evolved elsewhere and was transported to Earth between 60,000 and 200,000 years ago. Mankind is supposedly the most highly developed species on the planet, yet is surprisingly unsuited and ill-equipped for Earth’s environment: harmed by sunlight, a strong dislike for naturally occurring foods, ridiculously high rates of chronic disease, and more. This suggests (to me at least) that mankind may have evolved on a different planet, and we may have been brought here as a highly developed species. The Earth approximately meets our needs as a species, but perhaps not as strongly as whoever brought us here initially thought.”

However, if any of this at all is really true, then why would we have ended up here in the first place? Well, according to Silver one possibility is that Earth might be a planet for stowing away prisoners who were unable to integrate into their normal society. Our ancestors might have been exiled here, after which they were forgotten about and interbred with native species, to form what we are now, albeit with certain quirks indicative of our extraterrestrial origins. After all, humans have had had far away penal colonies before, so who is to say aliens don’t as well? Indeed, Silver calls it all “The Prison Planet Theory,” and he says of why we are here, “One reason for this, discussed in the book, is that the Earth might be a prison planet – since we seem to be a naturally violent species – and we’re here until we learn to behave ourselves.”

He has even suggested that at one time there may very well have been some sort of overseers, and that these became the gods in the minds of our ancestors. Indeed, the UFOs that many people see today could be our real ancestors keeping an eye on our progress. Other ideas are that an asteroid destroyed our home planet long ago and we fled here, over the centuries forgetting our true origins, or that we are even refuges from the dying planet Mars. We also might have been planted here for some sort of a long-running experiment, essentially making us intergalactic guinea pigs. One could speculate on an on. Whatever the ultimate reason is, the end result is we did not come from here.

While there have certainly been ideas and theories that life on Earth might have actually begun with bacteria or other biological material arriving her on a meteor, Silver is one of the first to seriously suggest that we in fact came here more or less fully formed, with perhaps some hybridization along the way. Silver has written an entire book on the subject, entitled Humans are not from Earth: a scientific evaluation of the evidence, and it is controversial to say the least. What are we to think of these ideas that human beings did not originate from what we have long thought to be our native home world? Of course there has been a lot of criticism aimed at the theory and it all remains highly speculative, but it is nevertheless another intriguing example of our kind trying to delve into our history and extract some meaning from where we came from, who we are, and where we are headed.
